Stepping in.

Speed may have national and global clients, but we’re proud to be Peterborough-based. We have a real insight into our home city and understand the social and economic landscape. When Peterborough City Council lost its in-house creative team, Speed was happy to step in to fill the void. Local government is not an easy environment – several entities have to compete for funding and every pound spent matters.

Using experience.

As the only fully integrated creative agency in Peterborough, we knew we could bring our experience with national clients to bear. Getting stuck in on social media campaigns, we quickly became known and well-integrated. Take Travelchoice, a campaign to guide people to make better decisions on how they travel around the city. With dedicated funding for advertising, supported by the cool visual identity we created, we were able to launch Travelchoice month, in August, featuring different events, such as Cycle Cinema, a drive-in where cycling powered the film.

Consistency all the way.

One goal for the Council was to achieve clarity of message and image and with so many different target audiences and media channels to consider this was no little task. We reviewed all the collateral and developed the brand image so it could be applied to various formats with ease and consistency. We wrote the brand guidelines signposting key brand elements to ensure the brand could be managed and implemented simply but effectively. A city wide advertising campaign followed to help create awareness amongst the residents about the successes and opportunities uniquely available to Peterborough.

Working with Speed is always exciting. Their client service is second to none but more importantly they always push the boundaries of creativity and think outside of the box. Speed has made us think differently about campaigns and as a result we’ve been able to be braver with our approach to messaging. Flexibility is also key and Speed has demonstrated on more than one occasion that they can respond to our needs at very short notice.
