A nickname that stuck

The Bluetooth name was only ever meant to be temporary – but it’s now a household brand. The original Bluetooth was Viking King that united Denmark and Norway, called Harald Gormsson.

The company couldn’t come up with a better name pre-launch, so Bluetooth it remains. Its logo is a blend of two ancient runes: King Harald’s initials.
