Tech Lead

We are a growing Agency and we are looking for someone who can take on responsibility and excel in a senior role. Helping to shape and coach the Dev team as we take on Agile working methodologies and look to work on more complex software and web projects.

We are looking for an ambitious, experienced full stacker who is ready for that next career step leading our Dev team and taking the Agency to the next level.

The candidate will need to provide a strong technical direction establishing a technical vision, resolving technical debates and managing the technical quality of team deliverables. Effective technical leadership to ensure the team uses appropriate practices (such as CD or automated testing) and invests in continual improvements to tooling to meet the changing needs of clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Clients – Working with the MD and Client Services team make recommendations to clients, attend technical client meetings, articulate tech in a non-tech way to help colleagues and clients understand projects and systems. Write and develop technical aspects of Proposals and develop budget estimates, take part in new business meetings and provide recommendations on technical direction and build plans.
  • Leadership – Strong leadership skills like coaching, influencing and delegation are key. Daily management of an inhouse Dev team. Management of  3rd party outsourcing teams – from a technical delivery perspective.
  • Architecture – Must have a broader understanding of how software fits into the overall system. Working with our inhouse Systems Architect, you will need a good understanding about how software will be deployed, managed and operated in a production environment.
  • Development – Must have a background as a Full stack developer. Although the hands on coding element of the role will be minimal (max up to 20%). You will need to know how to write code and what good quality code looks like. You should be able to help the team with any technical challenges they have, even when you are not necessarily the expert.
